Election Update: Comey Or Not, Trump Continues To Narrow Gap With Clinton

The bottom line: the probability that the Cubs will win AND Trump will lose is about 20% so it about 80% sure that a lot of Chicagoans are not going to be happy next week. “Both FiveThirtyEight’s models and betting markets give Trump about a 1 in 4 chance of winning the election, about the same chance as the Chicago Cubs have of winning the World Series.”

The GOP’s Age of Authoritarianism Has Only Just Begun

Be afraid! “Rubio assumed that the term “conservative movement” was synonymous with “the Republican Party.” The two were not always the same. Like right-of-center parties in industrialized democracies across the world, the GOP throughout most of the 20th century understood there to be a role for government in daily life.”

Given his 10 year term, I don't think he can be fired - but can he be impeached? Jailed? What are the candidates’ plans for America’s budget?

"The candidates, then, offer two completely contrasting plans. Mrs Clinton would keep the national debt more-or-less on its current path, raise overall taxes and spending, and redistribute from the rich downwards. Mr Trump would borrow vastly more than currently planned, cut taxes, and redistribute upwards (compared with current law). Neither would do much about America’s longer-term fiscal woes. Because the trust fund for Medicare runs dry only in 2028, and the Social Security fund only in 2034, this issue will only really grab politicians—and electorates—later. "

Upworthy

"She surveyed hundreds of exchange students and found three major points that they all agreed on. The students all said that in their host countries: School is harder. There's less homework but the material is more rigorous. People take education more seriously, from selecting the content to selecting the teachers. Sports are just a hobby. In the U.S., sports are a huge distraction from the business of school, but that's not the case in other countries. Kids believe there's something in it for them. The students in other countries deeply believe that what they are doing in school affects how interesting their lives were going to be. Even if they don't like a class, they see their education as a stepping stone to their future."

Why European Islam’s current problems might reflect a 100-year-old mistake

“,,,the present-day pathologies of European Islam are a kind of aftershock from a century-old mistake. Or rather, of a short-sighted policy that went into higher gear almost exactly 100 years ago. In the summer of 1916, the British government and its war allies began fomenting an Arab revolt against the political and above all, spiritual authority of the Ottomans.”

Trump's bullsh*t: Why his supporters don't care that he's lying

"...people bullshit when they speak about topics that they are not well-versed in or when the facts don't line up with the overall message. Trump has been upfront about his outsider status and his lack of debate prep and knowledge on government policy. The fact that he responds to complex topics with bullshit is perhaps not surprising." The really sad thing is that the right wing blogosphere and media pass on his bullshit message even when they are not as ignorant as he is. Only in his and their circles is lack of evidence taken as proof. For example: I have not seen Trump's graduation certificate, therefore he did not graduate. I have not seen his psychiatrist's notes, so clearly he is hiding something.

How Negative Thoughts and Complaining Affect Your Brain

Think happy thoughts and stop complaining. Trump will lose! "“Every time we have a thought we make a chemical. If we have good, elevated thoughts or happy thoughts we make chemicals that make us feel good or happy. And if we have negative thoughts or bad thoughts or insecure thoughts we make chemicals that make us feel exactly the way we are thinking. So every chemical that is released in the brain is literally a message that feeds the physical body. Now the body begins to feel the way we are thinking.” ~ Joe Dispenza" Read more at: http://ift.tt/2dgnezX | FractalEnlightenment.com

Simply rebooting the device alone may not solve the problem because there is so much scanning by hackers for devices that they can be re-infected almost immediately after rebooting.
