The Benefits of Intransigence

Very scary. The freedom that he seeks is the freedom to do anything the "irate minority" chooses to do. Does this not sound just like the state of the Middle East today? The Taliban, for example, are certainly irate, certainly tireless, and certainly a minority. All they want is the freedom to impose their views on everybody. Ron Paul would be proud of them. “ ‘It does not take a majority to prevail,’ ” Mr. Paul said at the conference’s climactic event, quoting Samuel Adams, “ ‘but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brush fires of freedom in the minds of men.’ ”
